What we do.
We invite groups of up to 4 people to our workshop where they will be guided in the process of upcycling furniture to achieve a professional finish.
Participants have access to the complete range of Artisan Paint Company products including over 100 colours of chalk and mineral paints.
Once completed, they take their newly upcycled furniture home (delivery can be arranged at no cost to the new owner).
Workshops are either 1 or 2 days.
Lunch and refreshments are provided.
Harboring creativity and connection.
When it comes to upcycling furniture, the creative potential is endless. Creative expression offers a range of mental health benefits, providing individuals with a means to express themselves, reduce stress, enhance self-esteem, develop cognitive skills, promote mindfulness, and build relationships.
Our workshops stimulate social connection between individuals who have shared similar experiences. This has the potential to yield validation, empathy, support, shared coping strategies, and a sense of belonging. Interacting with people we can relate to plays a vital role in breaking isolation, rebuilding trust, and fostering post-traumatic growth.
Establishing a new home.
Establishing a new home is a significant step towards reestablishing personal safety, control and opportunities for growth. It is important that we create a space that makes us feel proud and comfortable, and that reflects our unique personal style. What better way do this than creating your own, bespoke piece?
Caring for the environment.
‘Fast furniture’ is a major contributor to Australia’s waste crisis. Upcycling well-made pieces prevents them from going into land fill. We source quality, solid wood furniture that will stand strong for years to come. Our upcycling paints and finishes are eco-friendly, VOC free, Australian made products proudly provided by Artisan Paint Company.
